Story Card Text: Just Friends I?ve often been in the company of a good friend when asked the question, ?Are you sisters?? The answer is usually a, ?No, we?re just friends.? I got to thinking about that recently and, I wonder, why do so many of us answer, ?just? friends? When I think about the gift of friendship in my own life, I realize that ?just friends? doesn?t begin to honor the needs of the human heart that friendship fulfills. I believe that friendship is a gift from above, as precious as any relationship with which we can be blessed. I can?t imagine life without the friend who gives and shares so much, dreams for the possible and, yes, the not-so-possible, happiness and belly-busting laughter, disappointments and sorrows and shoulders for tears, listening ears that hear my inner thoughts and silent prayers, soothing words without uttering, hands that hold the mirror into which I can truly see myself, armfuls of warming embraces, footsteps alongside my own, eyes that help to see the rainbow after the rain, smiles that brighten the darkest of days.
